The Academy for Leadership & Equity (TALE) Application @ Rutgers University

TALE is a 2 day Leadership program for 7th and 8th grade students. The career and leadership development program focuses on interactive workshops that helps students' develop a better understanding of possible future careers.

Burlington County Institute of Technology (BCIT), a public high school preparing students to enter the labor market or continue their higher education, presented to our 8th grade students an overview on their school and available programs. There are 30 career majors that students can major in for example automotive technology, culinary arts, early childhood education, fashion design, and marketing to help prepare them for an opportunity for advanced placement with an employer. In addition, students receive all the academic course work necessary to enter college, a university, or other secondary institutions. If parents want additional information please call the admissions office at 609-267-4226, ext 246.

The Guidance Department serves as a bridge between home and school.  Together, Mrs. Eck, and Mrs. Garris-Sha have many years of experience in education.  We provide the following services:

  • Individual counseling on a variety of issues such as personal difficulties, academic problems, bullying, social and family adjustment, grief and divorce

  • Career Guidance

  • Peer Mediation

  • Scheduling

  • IEP Counseling

To help your children be successful at school, we encourage you to:

  1. Have a set time and place for homework

  2. Communicate periodically with your child's teachers

  3. Emphasize RON:  Responsibility, Organization and Neatness

  4. Let your child know that there are rewards and consequences for effort or lack of effort

  5. Hug your children each day and tell them that you love them.
